If you think L.A. and Orange County would be the premier locations for live music and great food well, you'd be wrong. Located in Riverside CA Romano's Concert Lounge has been showcasing music in this desert town since 2001. Initially Romano's showcased Jazz music over a 7 year period. This evolved into headlining punk rock shows.

Proprietor/restauranteur Gary Romano first booked tribute bands for his 36th birthday with Blasphemous Rumors & Richard Blade. Inevitably due to popularity Gary needed to increase the production equipment for the live shows and with that the Saturday night tributes were born. And as the owner of the place Gary absolutely loves the crowds that support the tribute nights.

I wondered how some of the bands themselves felt about performing at Romano's. Juan Del Castillo, lead singer of the Journey tribute band “DSB” tells me they love coming to Romano's. They love the sense of respect and hospitality from Gary and his staff that is in short supply and very rare in this business.

Now as far as the building is concerned Gary tells me he is making some small changes to the restaurant that will see the wall dividing the patio and front of the stage area removed and replaced with a collapsible wall so the stage area can be seen by the guests seated in the outdoor areas. A wonderful idea for those warm summer night shows coming soon.

With the popularity of such shows as AXS TV's World's Greatest Tribute Bands the tribute act scene is very much alive and well. Upcoming acts ready to grace Romano's stage will be “WANTED – A Tribute to Bon Jovi”, The Petty Breakers – A Tribute to Tom Petty”, “Blasphemous Rumors – A Tribute to Depeche Mode”, “Fortunate Son – A Tribute to CCR” & “No DUH – A Tribute to No Doubt” with many more to follow. Oh and lest I forget...they have an excellent menu of delicious Italian food to handle any appetite. Romano's Concert Lounge is definitely Tribute Band Heaven.
