Fans are thrilled that Sweet Home Alabama is back with Tribble Reese headlining the show, and viewers tuned in Thursday night to check out his Season 2 ladies. Reese may have left broken-hearted when Devin Grissom chose Adam Moyer over him, but it sounds like coming in second place turned out pretty well. In an interview with al.com, Tribble opens up about this season and teases fans that there is a good reason to stick around until the finale.
In his interview, Tribble Reese says, “I fell for Devin. It's a reality show, but I still had very strong feelings for her. I really developed this strong connection with her, and I thought there was something between us.” When he had the opportunity to turn the tables and take the lead in Sweet Home Alabama Season 2, he knew his goals were different than his plan for Season 1. He says, “My goal from the very start was to go down there and find someone I had a connection with, and I think I did that.” He adds, “I opened up and gave my heart, and I think I found someone on the other end who did the same thing.” Did he find love? It sounds like that may be the case, as he shares, “I couldn't be happier” about how things went on the show.
Tribble Reese played football for Clemson and went on to play a season in Arena Football before he settled down in Atlanta. A casting director for The Bachelor had met a friend of Reese's back in 2005, and when she was casting for Sweet Home Alabama, she went back to this friend asking for leads. This friend, John Cassimus, mentioned Tribble, and producers were sold.
While producers may have liked Reese from the start, he had reservations. He didn't want to be portrayed as a redneck on Sweet Home Alabama, so he didn't return casting director's calls. Eventually he asked his mom for her opinion, and she said “Why not? It'll be a fun opportunity.” Tribble remains good friends with guys from the first season, and thought he was fairly portrayed. He shares that Season 2 was more difficult than he expected, and they filmed nearly every day throughout September.
Tribble shares that it was tough to always “be on” throughout filming, and he was a zombie by the time it was over. Now he waits for the show to air so he can build his relationship with his chosen gal. He says they talk and text often, and in the meantime he is ready for the next phase of his career. Reese says he loves entertaining, and he hopes to get some on-air hosting opportunities.
As fans watch to see who seems to have the best chemistry with Tribble, he promises there is plenty of drama in this household of women. “The producers are excited,” he shares, and viewers can't wait to see what happens next. Tune in every Thursday night to Sweet Home Alabama, airing on CMT at 8 p.m. in Scottsdale.
