An Indiana witness near Mount Carmel reports a triangle UFO with red blinking lights at the center and front, white lights at the three points, and a "left to right" strobing panel of lights at the back, according to August 30, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The object's lighting was familiar as this was a second triangle UFO sighting for the witness.
"Another familiar part of this sighting was that it had no sound whatsoever, even at its closest distance and as it was moving away from me (if it was a jet, it should've had a roar from its jet engines)," the witness stated. "I went around behind our shed (south of the house) and watched it begin to bank slightly to the left, but did not change direction for some reason."
The witness provided a sketch of the object. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on August 30, 2011. The events occurred on August 29, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Mount Carmel is a town in Springfield Township, Franklin County, IN, population 86.
MUFON also received another Indiana UFO report for August 29, 2011, with MUFON Case # 31330. Two witnesses describe a bright, white light.
"What I saw was the most astonishing bright, white light I had ever seen," the reporting witness stated. "It was moving slowly across the sky from southeast to northwest. As I watched the object, it appeared to be experiencing a rotation along its yaw axis because the bright white seemed to dim with the same characteristic one might see when a flashlight is turned away from them. The light was still visible but it was much dimmer as it seemed to rotate. We continued to watch, though it was much dimmer than when we first caught sight of it. And as we watched, we saw the bright white light roll back over so we could see it. It lasted for possibly 10 seconds in its brightest visible position. It continued to rotate and we lost sight of it. It must have been extremely high."
Indiana is a current UFO ALERT 3 rating, with a high number of UFO sightings nationally. Indiana had 29 reports in July 2011 - while California had 54 UFO reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Indiana MUFON State Director Stewart Hill investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com.
IN, August 29, 2011 - Triangular object moving towards Mount Carmel. MUFON Case # 31305.
I was outside talking to my mom, and i just happened to be facing east, when i noticed what appeared to be a plane flying behind a tree (11:54 PM, i look at my cell phone to see what time it is each time i see an unknown object in the sky), so at first i did not think much about it, but before i saw it, i had a strange feeling that i would see another UFO, but i was not sure if i should trust that feeling or not.
As the object is passing behind the tree, my mom goes inside, and i looked at our '95 ford taurus to see if the windows were rolled up, and they were, so i looked back at the object behind the tree, and i could tell it was distinctly triangular, with a red blinking light between the center and the front, and three white lights, one at each point of the triangular shape.
As it began to move roughly east-southeast of me, i could see that the back of the object had a panel of white lights that appeared to be strobbing from left to right and two white lights (not blinking) one on the left and one on the right.
This is what immediately caught my attention, because back in 2004 i witnessed a simaler triangle that was much lower in altitude and appeared to be hovering, and it had a simaler light panel on the back with white lights strobbing from left to right.
Another familier part of this sighting was that it had no sound whatsoever, even at its closest distance and as it was moving away from me (if it was a jet, it should've had a roar from its jet engines). I went around behind our shed (south of the house) and watched it begin to bank slightly to the left, but did not change direction for some reason.
As it got south-southwest of my location, it appeared to have stopped, and began to fade slowly (it was probably climbing in altitude causing it to do this).
Finally at 11:59 PM (i had my cell phone with me so i looked at the time to make a more accurate report) i lost sight of the object. I tried to take some pictures of the object, (i took 6 photos) but the object did not emit enough light for my camera to see. I did make a quick sketch of it though.
