The TYUL Open team took ninth our of ten teams, losing all four pool play games against Southern Idaho, Minnesota, Boston and Pittsburgh. The men then beat Nebraska 13-5 in the ninth-place game.
The TYUL Women’s team took fourth out of five teams, The women lost all four pool play games on Saturday, losing to Seattle, Minnesota, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. They then returned on Sunday to defeat Pittsburgh 12-9 to advance to the championship bracket, leaving Pittsburgh in fifth place.
In the championship bracket, the team lost to Seattle 5-10, and dropped the third-place game against Cincinnati 4-8 to land in fourth.
But despite the less-than-ideal results, the women, at least, came home with some victories. TYUL Women’s players placed in the top two for all three statistics categories.
In goals, Caitlin Ball took first with 15 scores, and Lisa Couper tied for second with 14. Shellie Cohen took second in assists with 17.
Caitlin Ball also topped the Ds category, with 15, and Shellie Cohen came in second with 12. Meg Duffy and Lisa Couper also made the list – tied for fourth with 10 and sixth with 8, respectively.
