Tri Shop grand opening tomorrow in Plano

PLANO, TEXAS - A new triathlon-specific store catering to athletes in the fast growing sport is opening tomorrow in west Plano. Tri Shop, located at 6101 Windhaven Parkway, Suite 100, Plano is a one-stop shop for a triathlete's every need.

Trent Nix, CEO and co-founder, says about the store's genisis, "It's been an idea in the making for the last 2 1/2 years. I had to go to no less than seven stores around Dallas to get everything I needed to race my first Ironman." After returning to Dallas he and his business partners begain researching the DFW triathlon retail market and discovered their niche. "Although there were retail stores for cycling, running, and swimming, there wasn't one that combined all three specifically made for triathletes." 

Tri Shop will carry a complete line of bikes and bike accessories, running shoes and equipment, swimming gear and supplies, and much more to meet the needs of the community of triathletes, swimmers, cyclists, and runners in the Metroplex and surrounding areas. Tri Shop will also have a full service bike parts and services shop.

In addition to its retail space, the Tri Shop Performance Studio offers the latest in cutting-edge performance testing, coaching, and performance analysis services. The Tri Shop Performance Studio will provide metabolic testing, lactate testing, video swim and run analysis, USA Triathlon certified coaching services, nutritional services, custom bike fitting, a CompuTrainer lab, weight sessions, and recovery tools. Additionally, Tri Shop will host lectures on triathlon and nutrition, provide group training opportunities, and will feature an Endless Pool in-store.
 
"The Performance Studio is what separates Tri Shop from the other retails stores. Where others are in business to sell product to customers our store will be a place to help triathletes become faster and fitter. This is to be much more than just a store. It's an experience. It's a place a triathlete can call home," says Nix.
