Films Sugar, The Escapist and The Song of Sparrows will be released Friday, April 3, 2009. Some of the actors in the three films are Algenis Perez Soto (about Miguel "Sugar" Santos) in Sugar; Damian Lewis, Brian Cox and Joseph Fiennes in The Escapist. The Song of Sparrows is about an ostrich farm outside of Tehran, Iran.
Soto/Santos is the main character in the movie Sugar. It is about a Dominican baseball player who wants to play in the U.S. minor-leagues for a fictional team called Kansas City Knights. The film premiered at the Sundance film Festival.
Damian Lewis, from The Escapist, is a Golden Globe-nominated English actor and producer. He first decided to become an actor at age 16. He was educated at Ashdown House and Eton college and graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1993 where he served as a stage actor for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Joseph Fiennes, brother to Ralph, is a Screen Actors Guild award-winning English film and stage actor. Best known for his portrayals of William Shakespeare in Shakespeare in Love, Sir Robert Dudley in Elizabeth and Martin Luther in Luther.
These tri-films/movies appear to be quite different in "nature" as well as the actors/characters who are a part of them. Not a bad thing, and it appears they will make for a variety of great entertainment.
