Trey Burke earns two more national accolades

University of Michigan standout Trey Burke earned two more national accolades on Thursday as he was named the Associated Press Men's Basketball National Player of the Year and the Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year for a remarkable season in which he has led the Wolverines to the Final Four® of the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to these newest honors, Burke had already been named Big Ten Player of the Year and made the All-America first teams of Sports Illustrated, the Sporting News, and other publications, in addition to the John R. Wooden and Associated Press squads.

U-M will play the Syracuse Orange on Saturday at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta for the right to compete in the national championship game next Monday versus the winner of the Louisville-Wichita State matchup, which will be held earlier in the day. CBS will televise the Michigan-Syracuse contest, with tipoff set for 8:49 p.m ET on Saturday.
