Last Wednesday, Trevor NextGen hosted its 4th annual Fall Fête at the Angel Orensanz Center in the Lower East Side. Trevor NextGen is a group of volunteers that are committed to supporting the Trevor Project’s mission of eliminating suicide among LGBTQ youth through outreach and fundraising initiatives. Notable personalities at the event included Laverne Cox, Danielle Brooks, Dascha Polanco, and Uzo Aduba, all from Orange is the New Black; Adrienne Warren of Bring It On: The Musical; and Betty Who, singer of “Somebody Loves You.” Betty Who, Uzo Aduba, and Adrienne Warren, all provided special musical performances during the evening.
At the event, there was an extensive silent auction that included items such as tickets to the Daily Show, an HBO Fan pack and a Chelsea Market Gift Basket package, a bottle of Veuve Cliquot, VIP tickets to the Bethenny Show, and a Mets Tickets package. Raffle tickets were also available for purchase for a chance at winning a site visit for two to the set of Orange is the New Black. Guests enjoyed small bites and a hosted bar by Absolut Vodka, Barefoot Wine, and Miller Lite, Maestro Dobel Tequila, and Boodles British Gin. It was truly impressive to see so many people mingling in one room in support of such an incredible cause!
