MILO--- Trevor Lyford scored 30 points on Monday evening to lead his team to a huge victory and surpass the 1000 career point mark.
Lyford went over the career milestone with a basket in the first quarter.
Lyford finished with 30 points to lead the Penquis Patriots to a 55-49 overtime victory over Hermon.
He joins his sister Erica Lyford, and cousin Erin Weston as members of the 1000 point club.
Isaiah Bess, Megan Dean, Jordan Allen, Kerri Wiles, and Jeremy Allen.also reached the 1000 milestone while attending Penquis high school.
Penquis coach Jason Mills said, "Trevor joins some select company at Penquis Valley by getting his 1000th point."
Lyford has led the Patriots to seven consecutive victories. He is averaging 23 points this season for the 10-3 Patriots.
Mills said, "What makes Trevor so valuable to us and makes him so special as a player is that he is a great leader and teammate, which makes him the best player.".
Penquis will finish the season with four of their last five games on the road.
The defending state champions from Milo are currently fourth in the MPA class C heal point standings.
