Even as a child Millie Finch always knew she loved animals. But she probably couldn’t have guessed what a hero she would be to them someday.
Finch, an independent business owner, has always been very supportive of organizations within her community of Fair Oaks.
Her business
Trends-n-Treats, an innovative pet supply store, boutique and pet spa, is located near Trader's Joes in the Quail Pointe Shopping Center on Madison and Sunrise.
Through the store and her own volunteer work, Millie Finch has connected with many people and pets in need.
True to her giving nature, Finch jumped right in to help.
Senior Gleaners comes once a week and collects donations from Finch of cat and dog food, collars and other supplies so that people in need can keep caring for their beloved pets.
Finch has donated valuable items to be sold or raffled off at various local fundraisers and animal rescue events as well. Finch’s daughter
Brianna Barron has carried on the family legacy of love, and rescued three abandoned kittens herself.
Besides having such a wonderful, giving owner, you might think Trends-n-Treats is just another pet store.
Sure, there are plenty of “big box” pet megastores, where you can wander around looking for someone with a clue that can help you. Often the employees will point pet owners in the direction of 100-pound sacks of nutritionally-questionable pet food, made by whatever manufacturer they’re plugging that week.
Trends-n-Treats is a wonderful, pet-focused retreat, filled with knowledgeable staff that can help you find the nutrition that will help your pet to thrive. They offer premium foods that are hard to locate at big box stores, including grain-free, raw and fresh and natural diets. As well as the convenience of the foods being available right nearby, their prices are good as well.
A very unusual feature of the store is that a wide range of veterinary services are available there through
Dr. Angie Stamm. Dr. Stamm is an experienced vet with a gentle touch and a focus on holistic animal care and acupuncture.
The store offers expert grooming salon services for cats and dogs with Tyler Gray and Katie Shanks, and locally made cat trees and original clothing for cats and dogs. The apparel
designer reportedly has a rescued cat named Leo that proudly wears his one-of-a-kind vest to events where he wanders around loose with dogs.
Millie Finch is truly the cat’s pajamas.
