  • Ankle length pants. These are still in action because they're just so darn versatile. You can wear them with flats, heels, sneakers and anything else you can think of. Bold colors continue to be a favorite for pants in general.
  • Major prints. If you haven't become comfortable with flashy prints, maybe it's time to think outside of the box. Small dot prints, big polka dot prints, splashy florals and digital prints are all winners for spring 2013. If you have any leftover in your closet from last year, hold on to them and wear often.
  • The asymmetrical skirt. The hi-low skirt trend took off last summer and it's still going strong for the new year. Look for soft neutrals to pair your skirt with to get that romantic, floating feeling that ran through many of the 2013 designer collections.
  • Quirky prints. Hearts, stars, superheroes...whatever childhood print you loved, you can now have it on a shirt. We saw a lot of this in the fall and winter of last year and now the prints are worn with more sophisticated pieces such as a swinging skirt or ankle length pants.
