United States has been described since the 1780s as the “Melting pot.” This metaphor was used to explain the assimilation of immigrants to our country.
The Popular song "The Great American Melting Pot,” with the lovely lyrics - “You simply melt right in, It doesn't matter what your skin” remains in American political and cultural dialogues.
