Singer/songwriter Alicia Keys is no stranger to philanthropic work. Her tireless service efforts as both the Co-founder and Global Ambassador for Keep a Child Alive has provided much needed medicine to families in Africa who have been diagnosed with HIV and AIDS. Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 12:30pm, the fourteen-time Grammy award winner along with Essence Magazine will host a live one hour chat answering fan questions regarding her ongoing work with HIV and AIDS. As well as, how the disease deeply and unequivocally impacts the African American woman. “According to statistics one in 36 Black women will be diagnosed with HIV in her lifetime.” Keys will also discuss why she is so passionate about this topic. While also exploring how women of color can lower their rate of contracting this virus.
