Happy FRIDAY CFTE Readers! It's been a pretty long and exciting week for the Chicago Fashion Trends Examiner. Not only was the column and blog nominated for CBS Chicago's MVB Awards (make sure to vote for the CFTE here), but it's been a whirlwind of a week at work. To end the week off on a good note, the CFTE was invited to Pdiddy's official launch party for his latest fragrance: Empress.

It's definitely an exciting event and the CFTE will be checking out the fashion for the evening at The Victor Hotel and will be posting a report on the after party either this weekend or early next week with photos of Chicago's most stylish hob nobbers. 
Kelly Rowland is the official face behind the fragrance and it definitely makes sense as she embodies the ideal that: the EMPRESS expresses the power of beauty and power of all women. While there are many ladies out there who embody the essence of the new women’s fragrance, Kelly Rowland is a notable example of a modern day Empress with her beauty, grace and presence. Kelly is manning all of the Empress social media for the launch, so you can keep up with her and the brand here!

The night is also dedicated to celebrating Antoine Walker's birthday and there may even be a few celebrities in house. Who? The CFTE doesn't know quite yet, but it'd be pretty cool to meet Kelly Rowland! The CFTE will  keep you all posted via twitter tonight! So make sure to follow the CFTE  here to keep up! The CFTE is extremely excited to sample the perfume itself. The body of it is made up of a crisp fruity floral, notes of Empress include a fresh blend of Key Lime Pie, Mandarin Imperial, Starfruit and Imperial French Berry, as well as warm caramel and comforting vanilla.
