This weekend the Jazz and Heritage Foundation will hold the Treme Gumbo Festival on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 11 AM to 5:30 PM at the Jazz and Heritage Center at 1225 North Rampart Street. Admission is free. This event celebrates the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Treme neighborhood.
Performers include Rebirth Brass Band, Treme Brass Band, Glen David Andrews, and Shannon Powell. In addition, the following special guests who have appeared in the HBO series Treme will make an appearance: Davis Rogan, Matt Perrine, John Boutte, and Tom McDermot.
