Only a 90 minute drive from Cleveland, Tara - A Country Inn located in Clark, Pennsylvania (the Sharon-Hermitage area) is offering guests a chance to experience a luxurious romantic getaway amidst a "Gone With the Wind" setting.
Tara - A Country Inn Inspired by the Academy Award winning movie, Tara - A Country Inn is a replica of Scarlet O'Hara's mansion. The building that houses Tara was built in 1854 and was renovated in the 1980's.
Tara has 27 guest rooms and suites (some named for "Gone With the Wind" characters), all decorated in the Southern Antebellum motif. All rooms include a gas fireplace and some have a jacuzzi. The property also has an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a sauna, a billiards room and an outdoor sculpture garden.
Gone With the Wind Getaway Packages Offering off- season discount packages from January 2 - April 30, visitors have a choice of a weekend dinner package, a midweek dinner package and a standard package good seven days a week. Special Note: Unfortunately, the discounts are not available Valentine's Day Weekend.
The Gone With the Wind Weekend Package (Fridays and Saturdays) includes overnight accommodations in a luxurious guest room, a Welcome Tray of cheese, fresh fruit and champagne, Afternoon Tea (with finger sandwiches and delectable sweet treats), dinner at either Ashley's Gourmet Dining Room or Stonewall's Tavern ($100 cap) and breakfast the following morning. Guests will also receive a guided tour of Tara where you can see actual memorabilia from the film "Gone With the Wind" including photos from the movie set and Clark Gable's robe.
Price of the Weekend Package ranges from $325 - $425 per night depending on room type. If you stay a second night in the same room you will receive a $50 discount for the second night.
The Gone With the Wind Midweek Getaway (Stonewall's Package) Offered Sunday through Thursday, this package includes all items in the Weekend Package except the included dinner is at Stonewall's Tavern with an $80 cap.
Cost of the Midweek package ranges from $300 - $400 per night depending on room type. Stay a second night and you will receive a $50 discount for the second night.
Standard Room Package This package also includes most of the amenities of the Weekend Package but does not include dinner. Prices range from $250 - $350 per night depending on room type. You will receive a $25 discount if you stay a second night.
Again, the prices for these packages do not include Valentine's weekend but they are good for any other time through April 30.
