Hollis Wilder's cupcakes have won Food Network's Cupcake Wars twice. If you give some of her cupcakes to your Valentine, you might just win his or her heart. Click the photo labeled "Slideshow" to see slide photos of some of these delectable sweets.
After she won one Cupcake Wars competition, Hollis Wilder (also know as Miss Holly) was invited back to compete as a Cupcake Wars champion. She also won that competition making her one of America's best known cupcake bakers.
After discovering that a Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly bakery was located in Orlando, Florida I made it my mission to seek out and sample her famous cupcakes. I was skeptical. I wondered if her cupcakes would live up to the hype. After talking my husband into driving me the approximately 70 miles (1 hour and 20 minutes) one way to get to Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly I was so glad that her cupcakes were everything that I expected.
So that I could sample a variety of flavors, I purchased minis. They're the two and a half bite cupcakes sold at the bakery. I'm now in love with the dulce de leche spiced cake with dulce butter cream and dulce caramel filling. My husband and daughter both chose the strawberry cake as their favorite.
Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly has "dailies" - cupcake flavors customers can count on every day. They also have chef's choice flavors that change regularly. The minis are currently priced $18.00 per dozen. If you visit the bakery on Mondays you can buy minis for just $1.00 each. Since Valentine's Day falls on Tuesday this year it might be smart to shop ahead on Monday and buy your sweetheart a dozen minis for his or her sweet tooth. I know I'd rather have a dozen Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly cupcakes than a dozen roses!
