Did you make a New Year’s resolution to be more active this year? One of the best ways to reach your fitness goals is to sign up for fitness events. Winter brings cold weather to Boise and the Treasure Valley, which means fewer outdoor fitness events. But there are still a few ways you can get moving this month, and a few of them are inside. Here’s a list of events to help you plan.

Saturday, January 18

Wilson Creek Frozen 50K Don’t let the name scare you off. The 50K is just one of several options, including 20 miles, 10 miles, and 5 miles, in Melba. For more information, click on this link.

Caldwell Indoor Triathlon Looking for a physical challenge to get yourself moving this month? This event at the Caldwell YMCA is for all fitness levels. Swim 8 laps in the pool, cycle 6 miles on the indoor bike, and then run 2 miles on the treadmill. For more information, click on this link.

Monday, January 20

West Y Grand Opening Event Check out the new West YMCA from 12 to 6:30 p.m. There will be demo classes all afternoon, including Y Barre, Crossfit, Bokwa, and TRX. For more information, click on this link.

Saturday, January 25

Freezeout Challenge Choose from 12K or 3.5 miles. The course starts and finishes at the Gem County Fairgrounds in Emmett. The 12K loop course includes Freezeout Hill, while the shorter course doesn’t. For more information, click on this link.
