Looking for ways to keep yourself moving next month? Although we’re finally seeing some blue skies after that lingering inversion, it’s still winter, and will be for a while. That means there aren’t many outdoor fitness events coming up in February. But you know how much the Treasure Valley loves to dress up in costumes and sweat in order to celebrate any holiday, right? So, don’t worry. You’ve got a couple of fun Valentine’s options to choose from, to help you work off all that candy, or you can really challenge yourself with a half marathon. Check out the list below.
Love ‘Em or Lose ‘Em 5K/Valentine’s Dash Get your heart racing. Run with your sweetheart, or search for your “sole mate.” This second annual event takes place at Julia Davis Park. Runners, walkers, and strollers are all welcome. Plus there will be a kissing booth with local celebrities, a mid-race Valentine’s candy fuel stop, a photo booth with fun costumes and props, and much more. For more information, click on this link.
Run 4 Luv Cupids and other Valentine’s Day costumes are encouraged. Course options include 5K, 10K, and half marathon, plus a kids’ race, so you can bring your whole family. This race starts and finishes at Ann Morrison Park, at the Old Timer’s Shelter. For more information, click on this link.
Highlands Half Marathon This challenging winter half marathon takes place near Bogus Basin Rd. Net proceeds go to the Idaho Food Bank. For more information, click on this link.
