February is right around the corner, and love is in the air. Well, maybe just a love for fitness. Although it’s still pretty cold here in the Treasure Valley and road are icy, we do start seeing a few more outdoor events at this time of year. If you’ve been wanting to get out and get some exercise in 2013, now’s a great time to sign up for a fitness event. The list is brief, but the events are all fun. And who knows? Maybe you’ll discover your true love.

Valentine’s Dash “Love ‘Em or Lose ‘Em” This family friendly 5K run/walk begins at 10 a.m. near the Rose Garden in Julia Davis Park. And this is not your average 5K. There will be kissing booths with local celebrities, a mid-race Valentine candy fueling station, post-race Valentine treats, and more. Run 4 Luv 5K/10K You can choose from 5K or 10K distances in this run/walk, with a portion of the proceeds going to the American Red Cross. This race begins and ends in Ann Morrison Park. For more information, click on this link.

Men-R-Pigs Heartbreaker Run Yep, that’s what it’s called. This run is by the Boise Hash House Harriers, which describes itself as “a drinking club with a running problem.” The course is approximately four miles, both on and off road, starting at the Municipal Park Shelter. Full Moon Friday Night at the Nordic Center On the Friday night closest to the full moon, Bogus Basin’s Nordic Center stays open late for night skiing. They also offer half priced group lessons, and discounts for rental equipment. For more information, click on this link.
