Tre Bicchieri 2014 was February 6 at the Metropolitan Pavilion on West 18th Street. The event featured a huge array of Italy's best wines. Hundreds of attendees -- including wine press, wine trade, and wine collectors-- sampled wines from all over Italy, from the Veneto to Sardinia. The event was sponsored by Gambero Rosso, which awarded the best wines a one to three cup rating, with three cups (tre bicchieri) being the top honors.
Some of the stand-out wines of the tasting included:
Lo Sparviere Franciacorta Saten (sparkling) from Lombardy / awarded two cups
Cannonau di Sardegna Ballu Tundu Riserva 2010 from Sardinia / awarded two cups
Chiarli 1860 Pruno Nero Dry Lambrusco from Emilia Romagna / awarded two cups
