Travis Alexander murder: Psychologist says Jodi Arias is a narcissist

On the Jan. 8 episode of "Nancy Grace," a psychologist came on the air to say that Jodi Arias is a narcissist who cannot let go.

The woman is accused of killing Travis Alexander, who was shot in the face, stabbed 29 times and had his throat slashed from ear to ear. The neck wound was so deep that it went to his spine and nearly decapitated him. He was left crumpled in the shower until his friends found his partially decomposed body.

The "Nancy Grace" show also had a body language expert who has been observing the alleged killer's behavior. She noted that at the start of the Jodi Arias trial, she had pale skin and wore black clothing, which indicated a "villian" look. Now, she has changed to light colored tops, gold framed glasses and is trying to have a softened look about her. Susan Constantine, the body language expert, says that she is holding up a barrier between herself and the jury. Her body language also indicates that she actually believes her story... just like a person who tells so many lies that they end up believe the lies themselves.

Zack Billings, a close friend of Travis Alexander's revealed that at the memorial service, Arias did not shed a single tear. Instead, she asked him how he was doing and where he was living. A very odd conversation to be having at a memorial service for someone who was supposedly "shocked" and "deeply saddened" by her former boyfriend's death.

The Jodi Arias trial is receiving nationwide attention and supporters of the woman are claiming that she was suffering from Battered Woman Syndrome. However, for this defense to even be applicable would mean she would have to been abused over several years. She stated that the abuse began the night she killed him.

Those following the case on the "Nancy Grace" show cannot forget that day after killing him she was seen laughing and acting completely normal. That is not the behavior of someone who had to kill in self defense; it is the behavior or a cold-hearted murderer with no remorse.

Supporters of the narcissistic woman should remember that she stole her grandparent's gun, drove 1,000 miles, changed the tags on her rented car and put the license plate on upside down. She also altered her appearance so if anyone saw her, she would not be recognized.

The physical evidence does not add up to what she is saying and she has changed her story three times.

Perhaps the narcissism diagnosis is correct, but it is not a defense. She truly believes that what she did to Travis Alexander was justified and she actually thinks she will get away with it. She is also obsessed with her appearance and when police came to arrest her, she asked them to give her some time to put on her make-up and do her hair. She has had several makeovers while in jail and spends quite a bit of time primping herself before talking to reporters. There are clips of her smiling and laughing just before taping interviews. She also arrogantly said that no jury will convict her.

What do you think of the Jodi Arias trial so far? What are your thoughts on the woman who brutally murdered Travis Alexander?
