In a turn no one expected, less than a month before his brutal death at the hands of his ex-girlfriend, Jodi Arias, Travis Alexander blogged about dating an “axe murderer.” Alexander’s bloody body was discovered by his worried friends in his shower and ex-girlfriend is currently on trial for the murder. If convicted, she could receive the death penalty.
On May 18, 2008, Alexander wrote a blog titled, “Why I Want To Marry A Gold Digger.” It was a blog on the dangers of being single and dating and he said he wanted to start to “date with marriage in mind.”
On June 9, 2008, his friends who were worried because they hadn’t heard from him went to his home and discovered he’d been shot in the face, stabbed 27 times and had his throat slit from ear to ear. His broken, bloodied body was then left in the shower.
In his blog, Alexander wrote, “Desperately trying to find out if my date has an axe murderer penned up inside of her and knowing she is wondering the same thing about me. That’s usually when I think myself into a panic and start acting weird in consequence to trying so hard to act normal.”
Upon finding his body, his friends immediately suspected his ex-girlfriend, Jodi Arias. They went so far as to tell the 911 operator about her and revealed she had been “bothering him” and had slashed his tires.
In his blog, Alexander wrote about what he looked for in a woman. “Spirituality, mutual physical attraction, the ability to communicate effectively, wants children, etc, but there is one thing that I have come to appreciate as much or more than all the others. I don’t know how to label this quality except to say that it is the quality to appreciate the qualities in me.”
"I want someone to fall in love with me because I am a man of ability and achievement. "This life is a beautiful life. A life that is all the more beautiful when we find someone of like mind, heart and spirit to share it with."
Jodi Arias is on trial for the brutal murder of Travis Alexander. The prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for the viciousness of the crime. If she receives the death penalty, she will be only the fourth woman on Arizona’s death row.
