All passengers must have full secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) in their reservation at least 72 hours prior to departure.
Passengers will not be able to travel without providing the following details to the airline:
- Full Name exactly as it appears on the non-expired government-issued photo ID that you will use when traveling
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Redress Number(if applicable)
Secure Flight is a program to collect passenger data to enhance security. The information is used to compile a watch list that will identify potentially dangerous individuals from boarding the aircraft. The list also helps to avoid misidentifying harmless members of the public.
While the airlines are supposed to collect this information, it’s up to the passengers to make sure the information has been provided, especially those who bought tickets months in advance.
Many airlines will add the Secure Flight Passenger Data to the traveler’s account profile, and update it automatically in future reservations.

This is good to know. It would not be fun to be rejected at the gate because you failed to complete the secure flight information.
Great & important information to share with us, Grettel! I have to agree with Ted Nelson. It's better be safe than sorry! Nice job!
That's great information to know for next time I go traveling.
