According to a Jan. 15 tweet from Brittany "Too Smooth" Dugas, the undefeated Missouri fighter didn't take kindly to Amanda "Bobby" Cooper's team suggesting she'll get submitted during their match on Feb. 15 at King of the Cage in Walker, Minnesota.
"Submit me? You got about a snowballs chance in hell...better go for a different game plan..I'm already planning my victory party ;-* #youknowI'llnevertap #teamtoosmooth #10p4life #nodisrespect," Dugas wrote.
Dugas, who went 7-0 as an amateur, says her opponent's comments lit a fire under her, and that she'll prove she's the better fighter come Feb. 15.
"Her coach/bf predicted submission win," Dugas said when asked what caused the rivalry to simmer between her and Cooper. "Hah boxing is her strength, so that's stupid to even think that's gonna happen. I guarantee an impressive win on my part."
Dugas would go on to tweet that her verbal jabs are all in good fun and that it's nothing personal against her opponent.
"@dugastoosmooth no disrespect @BCOOP125... I told ya I talk a lil smack. All in good fun," Dugas tweeted.
There's plenty on the line in Dugas' bout against Cooper.
Dugas, 26, is putting her undefeated record on the line, while the 22-year-old Cooper looks to extend a four-fight win streak.
Both ladies will be making their pro debut, and whoever wins could easily earn consideration from a top promotion such as Invicta FC.
