Trapp Family Lodge

Trapp Family Lodge has something for everyone. Sking, hiking, biking, swimming, strolling through the beautiful gardens...etc. Not to forget the inside activities, afternoon cookies, tea and coffee, reading a book by the fire, playing a game, and of course meeting one of the famous Sound of Music famous family members, and not to forget the tickling of the ivories by the one and only John Castel in the lounge in the evening. That is just at the lodge, there is a deli that makes delish sanwiches, and we must not forget the baked goods, jams and maple syrup too. Trapp Family Lodge also has their own Lager which my husband loves. From the time you arrive on the property you feel like you are in a different place as you are catered to in every way. I recommend you make reservations if you will be dining in the dining room. We always ask for a table at a window as all have beautiful views. My husband and I have been here multiple times and love it. When we asked my son where he wanted to go on vacation he chose Trapp Family Lodge. He could have gone anywhere but has heard of all the fun my husband and I had. Our family photos said it all, even the indoor photos were so nice as my son had smiles from ear to ear as he was finally able to meet John Castel and listen to him play music. It is my goal to go there some time during the Christmas holiday season. I can only imagine how beautiful it is decorated. All other times of the year it is beautiful. If I can request, a very special occasion or not, a single night or more, get there early to have coffee and cookies, and dinner, then stroll into the lounge by the warm fire for some spirits. We always make friends when we go, people are so friendly, I think it is because The Sound of Music is in all our hearts.
