Trapeze, San Francisco’s acclaimed electroswing / burlesque showcase / dance party, prepares for the Burlesque Hall of Fame with an all-star cast blowout this Saturday, May 31st, at Rickshaw Stop.

Coming up on its two-year anniversary, Trapeze continues its tradition of featuring a momentous blend of top-tier local, national and international burlesque and electroswing (DJs/bands) talent. On the burlesque front, Saturday’s show stars Cleo Viper (Milan), Meka La Crème (Raleigh, NC), Ida Focht (of SF’s Vau de Vire Society), Chenoa Fox (SF), and SF cartoon-dance mayhemists, Fou Fou Ha. On the musical front, Britain’s Dutty Moonshine will be headlining, supported by Trapeze co-producers and resident DJs, Delachaux and The Klown. The night opens with SF electroswing impressarios, The Speakeasy Syndicate. Renowned Hubba Hubba Revue founder, MC Kingfish, will guide the night throughout.

In addition to the mighty, veteran performance lineup, Saturday’s show will also celebrate Dirtyvolt’s first-ever album/compilation release by giving away a full album digital download to everyone in attendance. ‘VINTAGE VOLTAGE: THE SOUNDS OF TRAPEZE, VOL.1’ includes 10 songs representing a selection of U.S., European and Canadian electroswing DJs who have graced the Trapeze stage across the past 20 months, including luminaries Bart & Baker, Defunk, Mr. Jennings, Dutty Moonshine, Smokey Joe & the Kid, Mano Meter, The Gentlemen Callers of LA, Cyril Noir, Good Co., and Delachaux.

“With BHOF coming up next weekend, we’ve architected this episode of Trapeze to properly lube the engine and spike the punch so we go in swingin’ hard,” says Trapeze co-produce Boenobo the Klown. “Saturday’s lineup is cream-of-the-crop—all talent we’ve toured with at various times, aside from Dutty Moonshine, who we’re nutso-excited to have along for this ride. And our debut compilation’s a sonic wonderland of electroswing’s elite – couldn’t be more happy with it, and good-n-ready to get it out to the planet.”

Advance tickets are still available at $15 through the Rickshaw Stop website; $20 door, 21+.

Doors are at 9pm; the event ends at 2am.
