TransportedSF Mobile Literary Salon with Swan, Eve Ladyapples and Sahar, NOV 17

She dealt her pretty words like Blades—
How glittering they shone—
And every One unbared a Nerve
Or wantoned with a Bone—

-Emily Dickinson

This Thursday, get on the TransportedSF  biodiesel/solar bus for a mobile event with three talented writers and poets: Swan, Eve Ladyapples and Sahar. There will also be an open mic section of the evening, so bring some of your own work, or your favorite poem or reading.

More about the featured wordsmiths:

*Swan* is a distinct vocalist and writer whose multifaceted voice captures an indelible sense of emotional depth. Dreamlike and ferociously tangible, her work pervades time and has earned her a reputation as a gifted singer, spellbinding performer and skilled songsmith. Since 2004 she has worked within the San Francisco Bay Area and West Coast underground music scenes, writing, recording, and performing her own original music as well as joining forces with many independent producers and bands . . . tearing jagged edges in soft sound-scapes and caressing thick, broken beats with sweet silken sugar.

*Eve Ladyapples* has been in love with language since the beginning, and has dedicated much of her life to the magic of wordplay in one form or another. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from CCA and has taught writing throughout the US and Abroad, including at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. She is currently working on a book about the life of the legendary Mama Kia and will be presenting at this year's Bioneers Conference on evolving the hidden activism of festival culture. Eve is very excited to be invited by the TransportedSF crew to spend an evening collectively draping language on the mystery just to see what forms arise.

*Sahar Driver* is a scholar, campaign coordinator and educator who has spent the last seven years developing expertise in the intersections between film, media, dialogue and justice advocacy. She is part of a team of communications strategists at Active Voice specializing in the use of film for social change. Sahar is also a writer with the Association of Iranian American Writers and is currently working on a doctorate in Social and Cultural Anthropology.

On this unique excursion, you will stop at three different outdoor areas around the Bay Area for the readings, as well as stop to experience the Leonids meteor shower!  As opposed to other TransportedSF events, the focus will be on words and how they combine with each other - not on creating a slamming dance party, (as usual.) That being said, DJ Alxndr will curate a set of quieter down-tempo tunes. Feel free to BYO drinks or tea.
