New York Fashion Week offered fashionistas a glimpse of what will be “in” this fall, but several of those trends are popping up this spring.
Three trends you can wear this spring that will translate well into fall are: peplum, contrast blouses and the color red.
Floral prints may scream “spring” but at this year’s New York Fashion Week, floral is making the transition into fall. Designers are incorporating floral patterns with darker colors into their collections. And New York & Company already has you covered! The Flower Print V-Neck Belted Blouse is available now for $42.95. For a limited time, this look is also buy one, get one 50% off.
The contrast silk blouse made its appearance this winter and is not going anywhere. This fall, the blouse will be making an impact in red. The Split Neck Blouse with Contrast Trim is available at New York & Company for $42.95. Although this blouse is not “on sale” just yet, I would not mind paying full-price for this piece.
Peplum is another trend that made its appearance in 2012 and is here to stay in 2013. Read more about turning peplum from “runway to real way” here: http://www.examiner.com/article/peplum-runway-to-real-way. As bargainistas, it is important to get the most "bang for your buck" and incorporate many different trends into our ensembles. Chevron is another trend that is hitting the racks. Chevron is a horizontal zig-zag stripe that is often seen in two contrasting colors. The Chevron Stripe Ponte Peplum Top is a perfect blend of the two trends and is available at Banana Republic for $49.50.
By translating these spring trends in fall fashions, you will be ready for both seasons and even have a little extra money in your pocket book.
Happy Shopping!
