Times, they are a changing. A person’s sexual orientation is no longer a taboo subject. The way a person decides to define his or her self whether gay, straight or transgender has become part of main stream society.
Laverne Cox has become the breakout star (Sophia Burset) a transgender inmate on Netflix’s original drama series “Orange is the New Black”. Cox’s looks stunning as the cover model on this week’s issue of Time magazine. Cox born a male embraces her transgender life as a powerful, sexy and sassy intelligent woman that has emerged as a leader among the transgender community.
Time magazine titled their cover story “The Transgender Tipping Point” according to Time they spoke with Cox about her childhood, being bullied and her first feelings that she might be transgender. Cox said, “My third grade teacher called my mom and said ‘Your son is going to end up in New Orleans wearing a dress.’ Up until that point I just thought that I was a girl and that there was no difference between girls and boys. I think in my imagination I thought that I would hit puberty and I would start turning into a girl”.
