Transformers Prime just started its second season on The Hub last weekend and the first season is hitting DVD and Blu-ray on March 6. Fans of the show won't be limited to just watching their favorite Autobots and Decepticons as a game based on their adventures is coming to the Nintendo Wii, 3DS and DS this Fall.
Tformers.com got the scoop when a review copy of Transformers Prime: Season 1 came with an insert revealing Transformers Prime: The Game. Since the insert just shows the name of the game and the five starring Autobots, nothing is known about the game other than it is being published by Activision and developed by NowPro.
NowPro previously worked on the Bakugan: Battle Brawlers game for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii along with Mario Super Sluggers and Sonic and the Secret Rings.
For those unfamiliar with Transformers Prime, it primarily features Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Arcee, Bulkhead and Ratchet battling against Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and a host of other Decepticons. It's one of the better Transformers shows since Beast Wars.
We'll be honest and say that the Wii version of Transformers: Cybertron Adventures for the Wii was fairly atrocious as it attempted to tell a sidestory of Transformers: War for Cybertron. Activision is smart to let a new developer take the reins and create something for the consoles that appeal to its demographic.
