The Minnesota bluegrass band Trampled by Turtles will make a tour stop at Wooly's (504 East Locust Street) in Des Moines on Friday, February 8. Fellow Minnesotans Actual Wolf (a Grand Rapids-based Americana band) will be opening on this part of TBT's tour. The doors at Wooly's will open at 7 p.m., and the music will start at 8 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $20 in advance and $22 the day of the show. They may be purchased at the Wooly's box office or online through Ticketfly. This is a 21-and-older concert.
Trampled by Turtles got their start in Duluth, Minnesota back in 2003. The band's sound blends bluegrass with folk and rock music. TBT has grown a huge national following through constant touring and playing high-profile festivals like Coachella, Stagecoach, Bumbershoot, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, the Newport Folk Festival, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Floyd Fest.
Trampled by Turtles last two albums have topped the Bluegrass chart, and the band's latest album, 2012's Stars and Satellites, also cracked the Top 20 on the Indie, Folk, Alternative, and Rock charts.
