Trails of Charlottesville

An hour's drive to the west of Richmond, the Charlottesville area lies along the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Therefore, Charlottesville and the surrounding region are home to a number of trails.

The Rivanna Trail is a paved trail that
begins in the city's Riverview Park, and leads partly along the edge of the University of Virginia's historic campus.

The Saunders-Monticello Trail, as its name suggests, leads to Thomas Jefferson's historic home.

Both of these trails are not only paved, but wheelchair-accessible.
