Upon my daily visit to IMDB yesterday, this writer discovered a film trailer that intrigued me enough to postpone what I had planned and watch the trailer for Tucker And Dale Vs Evil. This is a film this writer hopes plays at Movies 278 or Regal Cinemas Stadium 22 in Austell on September 30th, the release date is according to IMDB.
From the trailer, one can deduct that the film is about Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) who decide to go on vacation. Their vacation home is not exactly what one would glance upon and think that is where I would want to stay. In fact the so-called vacation home is a dilapidated mountain cabin buried within the forest. Meanwhile, a group of college students, who have obviously seen one too many horror films, appear to be going on a camping trip in the same area. In the trailer, their friend Allison (Katrina Bowden) spots Tucker and Dale attempting to accomplish some late night fishing and she falls into the lake. Being the kind-hearted folks they are, Tucker and Dale take Allison back to their cabin to make sure she is okay. They even make sure to tell her friends they have her. The friends do not think they are trying to help Allision however, but have captured their friend and they must figure out a way to get her back. The hilarity appears to ensue from there.
In addition, the fact that Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine are the lead characters within the film does not hurt matters. Most viewers will remember Tudyk from 2001's A Knight's Tale and Labine from the 2007-2009 television series Reaper. The two actors have been in many other movies worth investigating as well. Hopefully this film will not disappoint and I can con someone into seeing this one in the theater. In fact, this writer has not been this excited for a comedic horror film since Zombieland hit theaters. If Bill Muarry magically pops up in the film bestill my heart.
Meanwhile, some films that are comedic in nature also in the horror genre are Young Frankenstein (1974), Repossessed (1990), Shaun Of The Dead (2004), Dead & Breakfast (2004), Black Sheep (2006), and Zombieland (2009). These are quite frankly some of my favorites and ones a person cannot go wrong with at the end of the day. If you are interested in renting these aforementioned films, make sure to check out this title through Netflix, your local Austell Blockbuster, Videodrome, Movies Worth Seeing, or movie channels based upon your cable or satellite provider.
