Trailer for the 'Scott Pilgrim VS The World' video game may be even cooler than the movie trailer

That's not actually art from the game, but you get the idea.

We've been following every last development with Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim VS. The World as they've become available.  It's one of the most anticipated movies of the summer, and now that it's just a matter of weeks away, the promo machine is really kicking into high gear on the film.  A video game adaptation is on the way, headed straight for XBOX Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, and a newly-released trailer for the game has us wondering if the game won't be even cooler than the movie (which is already off the charts in terms of sheer awesomeness).  You can judge for yourselves below, my gentle Examiner readers...

Hopefully, you're already worked up into a lather awaiting Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim VS. The WorldThe film has one of the best trailers that we've seen all year (or over the past few years, for that matter), and by all accounts the movie's going to live up to the hype.  A video game adaptation of the movie/comic series that inspired the film will be released soon on XBOX Live and the PlayStation Network, and a newly-released trailer for the game matches the film trailer in terms of awesomeness.  Check it out:

Awesome, right?  It's hard not to use that word repeatedly when talking about the film, and now it appears that we're finding it hard not to geek out over the game, as well.  As you can see, Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game is an old-school sidescroller/beat 'em up affair, which is keeping in style and tone with the overt video game influences of the Brian Lee O'Malley comic series.  The film arrives in mid-August, while the video game featured in the video above will arrive on August 25th for XBOX Live Arcade and the Playstation Network ($15 on either system).  We'll have a full writeup on the game (and the film) once it arrives, folks.

Stay tuned for more Scott Pilgrim updates as they become available, my precious snowflakes.  If you've discovered some Scott Pilgrim news, videos, or updates that you want to see featured here at the Comedy Examiner's Office, do like Comedy Examiner reader "Lindsay M."
