Trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Hobbit fans unite as the first, full-length trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpeced Journey has been released. Click the video on the left to watch.

A younger Bilbo Baggin's story begins when he is asked by the wizard Gandalf to journey to Lonely Mountain where, accompanied by thriteen dwarves (sans Gimli), he sets out to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor taken by the dragon, Smaug. Of course along the way they battle an array of unsightly creatures as Orcs, Goblins, and giant spiders, though it is when Bilbo meets up with Gollum and his "precious" that his true willpower is tested.

The talented Martin Freeman will play young Bilbo, joining an already spectacular cast with Ian Holm as older Bilbo, Elijah Wood as Frodo, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, Hugo Weaving as Eldron, Christopher Lee as Sauman, Orlando Bloom as Legolas, and Andy Serkis as Gollum. Also joining are Stephen Fry, Evangeline Lily, and Lee Pace. However, as the Baltimore Sun points out, Viggo Mortensen will not be returning as Aragorn "unless there is some last-minute plan they have...I have to assume it isn't going to happen."
