Netflix is in the forefront of innovative ways to bring more subscribers to their watch instantly content. As a person who has had a subscription to Netflix since its inception i’m proud to see the forward thinking company take it to the next level and further. Outside of all the news of license contracts Netflix is acquiring (WB and Disney just to name a few) they are also developing content strictly for Netflix. It was announced that shows like The Killing are getting a reboot on Netflix and new shows like the Eli Roth produced Hemlock’s Grove will air all of its 13 episodes on the instant watch feature. The series will start April 9th and the first episode was also directed by Eli Roth.
The series revolves around the eccentric residents of a dilapidated former Pennsylvania steel town and the murder of 17-year-old Brooke Bluebell. Through the investigation, the town’s seamier side is exposed, revealing that nothing is what it seems. From what I can tell it seems very similar to Twin Peaks or more recently Stephen Kings Bag of Bones. The debut trailer is now available and I will have it for you here. Once the show debuts check back for a recap of Hemlock Grove as I’m sure there will be much to discuss.
Hemlock Grove the one hour murder mystery stars Famke Janssen (“X-Men”), Bill Skarsgard (“Simon & The Oaks”), Landon Liboiron (“Terra Nova”), Penelope Mitchell (“6 Plots”), Freya Tingley (“X”), Dougray Scott (“Mission Impossible II”) and produced by Eli Roth. It is based on Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name. Don’t forget FX’s The Following will be on Netflix as well!
