Trail riding with your horse can be a fun and rewarding experience. Surrounded by nature, with a group of fellow horse enthusiasts, it is a great way to relieve the stress of competition, and monotony of riding around a show ring repeatedly. There are a number of resources for trail riders in Chesapeake, including Northwest River park.

Chesapeake's Northwest River Park has an equestrian area and horse trails available for Equestrian Club members. Rates are $15 per person or $30 per family annually. Daily passes are also available at the park's office for $5 per person per day. The park is open all year round from 9 a.m. to sunset, every day of the week.

Southeastern Association of Trail Riders (or SEAT) makes use of the Northwest River Parks facilities as well as many other trails in the area. Membership rates are $20 per person and $30 per family per year. Be sure to visit the SEAT webpage for more info on how to join, and a list of upcoming rides and events.
