Three marines are dead from an apparent murder-suicide event. The shooting occurred Thursday night on the Quantico Marine Base in Quantico, Virginia. Two men and a woman are confirmed dead and all three were active marine working in Quantico at the Officers Candidate School. Radio news reports went out on WTOP and are printed in several media outlets.
According to the Free Lance Star, Thursday evening’s fatal shooting was confined to Taylor Hall, a single barracks at Officers Candidate School. The quick reaction of our Provost Office and the Prince William County Police enabled to assess the extent of the situation and act quickly to resolve it. The alleged shooter, was pronounced dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound by law enforcement at the scene. Two other victims, a male and female, both active duty Marines were pronounced dead at the scene.
No other incidents have been reported in connection with Thursday night’s shooting. All other personnel will be briefed throughout the day on Friday. For more information and a video news report, click here.
