Another breaking news story! Another senseless shooting; another group of devastated children, families and communities. More families broken; more lives taken; more indescribable pain. Rumors of bullying; but no real understanding of what has happened. No sure motives or purpose. The bottom line is that we find ourselves in a situation that has become all too familiar. Hurt; pain; hopelessness; lost; alone; misunderstood; feelings of despair....turning into tragedy with no remedy.
Some stories make it to the news, while others are never heard; never told and never addressed. But the truth is the pain is continuous; and deep. Children being beaten; raped; molested; bullied; neglected and rejected. The truth is, families are broken; people act as though marriage is a sin, and shacking up is a way of life. Fathers are not caring for their children, but sleeping with women who have children of their own. People are on the street; some by choice; but many by circumstances out of their control. There are men who were raised on the streets; ladies who learned to work on the corners. Families split because of gambling, drugs and alcohol...which lead to criminal behavior and prison terms. The family unit is being destroyed; causing breakdown in communities; no morals in society; and anger, expressed through tragedy with no remedy.
Leaders in the government; community; church and family....trusting in worldly ways, conforming to false gods; accepting ungodly lifestyles; numb to sin; unaffected by the many who are unsaved and lost. There should be a crying out in the churches; a grieving in our spirit; a pain in our gut, as we see the brokenness of our nation and this world. We look around as though it were normal; as though sin and pain should be accepted....as though this is tragedy with no remedy.
The truth is, there is a remedy for the state of this nation and this world. There is only one remedy; not many. As we scramble, trying to fix problems after they present themselves, we miss the opportunity to prevent some of the tragedy, because we overlook the remedy.
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33
If we, as Christians, would share CHRIST, our Savior... we would find that there is a remedy for the tragedies. You see Jesus came to save; HE came to heal the broken hearted; preach deliverance to the captives; recover the sight of the (spiritually) blind; and to set at liberty, them that are bruised. He came to bring rest to the weary; bring hope to the hopeless; and life the (spiritually) dead. He came so we can be forgiven and cleansed; become new and restored. He came as a remedy for our tragedy.
"People can never predict when hard times might come. Like fish in a net or birds in a trap, people are caught by sudden tragedy." Ecclesiastes 9:12 NLT But GOD.....
In the Bible, the devil is referred to as the god of this world, or the prince of the world.... he is working to destroy everyone that belongs to GOD; and blinding those who do not know GOD. But we are called to be soldiers; witnesses, and ambassadors. We are called to armor up and make disciples. Let's not sit back as though there is no remedy for these tragedies; there are just NOT enough laborers in the vineyard or soldiers on the battlefield.
There is a remedy for the tragedies...HIS name is JESUS. Please pray for those affected by this tragedy and many more..... http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/22/justice/nevada-middle-school-shooting/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
