Many people gravitate towards Irish food on St. Patrick's Day. They long for that traditional flavor served on plates, in bowls and in pint glasses. But why wait until that one day a year when everyone else has the same idea. Why battle the crowds when you don't have to.There is an Irish pub and restaurant in Seattle city that comes highly recommended all year round. It is called Fado's Irish pub and restaurant and is located 801 1st avenue in Seattle, just blocks from the Seattle waterfront.
Being an Irish restaurant, there are many traditional dishes to choose from on the menu. Some of the items include corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips, bangers and mash and the most authentic of the collection, the all-day Irish breakfast. The Irish breakfast includes Irish sausages, rashers, eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomato, potato bread and black and white pudding. This is a plate that is hard to find in the United States, even in Irish restaurants because the sausages, rashers and pudding often need to be imported. However, according to one of the servers, Patrick, their pudding is made in house. Now that is what you call authentic.
What is this Irish pudding? The black pudding is a sausage made from pig's blood, meat, fat, oatmeal and a bread or potato filler. The white pudding is made just like the black pudding just without the pig's blood. While this isn't for everyone, you should definitely give it a try. It is very flavorful and if you didn't look it up, you'd never know what was in it going off of flavor alone.
Furthermore, Fado's Irish pub and restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere with excellent service. Whether you just want a drink in the bar or a meal in the dining room, you are sure to be comfortable and well taken care of
