John Kang heals with acupuncture in his Carytown location and his Richmond Acupuncture & Wellness Center in the West End.  In Carytown he practices Community-Style Acupuncture which he describes as a “common throughout Asia and specifically Taiwan. Community-Style Acupuncture is growing in popularity in the United States as a means of offering acupuncture treatment in an inexpensive manner.”  Rather than lying on a massage table in private rooms the patient sits in a chair.  This service is specifically good for students and seniors.

He also has a martial arts studio in his Carytown location.

John Kang is from a family of Chinese doctors.  After graduating from Berkley University in California, he  was an apprentice in acupuncture in 1995; then earned a Masters of Oriental Medicine from Meiji College. He has done post-graduate studies in Japan and China.
