According to the New York Daily News on Friday, actor and comedian Tracy Morgan has been moved from a hospital to a rehabilitation facility as he recovers from a serious vehicle accident that happened on the New Jersey Turnpike on June 7. Even though Morgan is out of hospital, his spokesman Lewis Kay said, "While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go." He will be in an undisclosed rehabilitation center in New Jersey for the next few weeks.

Morgan, 45, left a New Brunswick, New Jersey hospital nearly two weeks after he arrived in critical condition from a 6-car crash. In fact, it was once rumored that Morgan had died. Soon after the crash, Morgan was airlifted to the hospital after suffering a broken leg, broken ribs, a broken nose and other injuries when a tractor-trailer plowed into the Mercedes-Benz limo-van carrying the comedian and four others.

Walmart truck driver Kevin Roper, 35, of Jonesboro, Georgia was charged with vehicular homicide in the late-night crash when Morgan's friend James McNair, 62, of Peekskill, New York, was killed and Morgan and two other men were seriously injured. Roper allegedly hadn't slept in 24 hours before the accident. The Transportation Safety Board report found he was driving 20 mph over the posted 65 mph speed limit before the fatal accident. The speed limit is usually 55 mph on that stretch of turnpike, but it was lowered to only 45 mph that night because of construction. Roper has pleaded not guilty to one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. According to CNN, Roper is free on a $50,000 bond.

Morgan and fiancée Megan Wollover publicly expressed their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided the former “30 Rock” star. Other celebrities are sending well wishes to Morgan for his speedy recovery.
