Tracy Morgan in critical condition after car crash

Actor Tracy Morgan was involved in a car crash early Saturday morning. Morgan was traveling in a limousine bus with his crew when they were hit by a truck in New Jersey, according to Fox News reports.

The New York actor and comedian was flown in a helicopter by a medical transport team directly at the scene to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital located in New Brunswick, N.J.; others involved in the six car pile-up were also sent to the same hospital for immediate treatment.

Morgan was treated along with others who were also critically injured by the hospital’s emergency department of the level 1 trauma center; a total of three from this incident are currently listed in critical condition.

James McNair one of the six passengers who were also travelling with Morgan, unfortunately died at the scene; the 63-year-old fellow comedian performer was also known as “Jimmy Mack” by the crew.

The horrific crash began in the early morning hours when the “Saturday Night Live” performer was headed to Charlotte, N.C. to appear for a show at The Fillmore Charlotte; the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter they were driven in was overturned when a tractor-trailer reamed into the entourage while driving on the New Jersey Turnpike in Cranbury Township.

Mr. Morgan had just finished a show at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino the night before. The Fillmore Charlotte show has been canceled.

The “Rio 2” movie star played a charming bulldog character name “Luiz” along with all-star cast members actor Jesse Eisenberg as “Blu,” actress Anne Hathaway as “Jewel, will.i.am, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, Jemaine Clement, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro and Jake T. Austin.

The “Rio 2” movie – directed by Carlos Saldanha – aired nationwide on April 11.

Family members have rushed to the “Saturday Night Live” performer’s bedside at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Given the seriousness of his injuries, it is uncertain how long the star will stay in the intensive care unit located in New Brunswick, N.J.

Tracy Morgan resides in New York City with his wife and model Megan Wollover; they have an 11-month-old daughter name Maven Sonae.
