Tracy Lawrence celebrates LMG's 1st birthday at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe

Nashville songwriters' home away from home, The Bluebird Café, was abuzz with celebratory cheer and live music Wednesday night, Feb. 1, as country artist Tracy Lawrence marked the first anniversary of the Lawrence Music Group, a record label, publishing and artist management company.

Texas native Lawrence, along with a round of featured artists and LMG songwriters, entertained a full house at the famous Hillsboro Pike nightspot during the event that was presented by ASCAP. The LMG team played some of Lawrence's hits, as well as his new single, "Pills," which is a tongue-in-cheek song about medication dependency.

“It’s been an exciting year for us,” Lawrence said, referring to LMG.“We founded the company on the core principal that music would be the foundation for everything we do. It’s important even in this digital age (that) we continue to provide opportunities for artists and songwriters to create music, which is the cornerstone to the Nashville music community.”

As for LMG's plans in the New Year, word has it that several of the company's artists--namely, American Idol’s Lacey Brown, Rick Huckaby and Jonny Houlihan--will release new music.

FYI: As of Feb. 2, Lawrence's new "Pills" single is available for download on iTunes.
