SyFy is pairing country music star Bill Ray Cyrus and his tattooed son, Trace Cyrus on a new reality show, UFO: Unbelievably Freakin' Obvious. It doesn't look like Miley will be involved in the show that reportedly has the father-son duo traveling across the country investigating conspiracy theories involving unexplained activity and paranormal phenomena.
Billy Ray and Trace signed with Syfy and NBC’s Peacock Productions for development on a weekly reality series, UFO, to which Mark Stern, Executive VP of Original Program at Syfy said in a press release: “Allegations of cover-up and conspiracy around unexplained phenomena has inspired heated debate for decades, and it will be interesting to see what truth Billy Ray and Trace may discover.”
Billy Ray's son, Trace, 21, was a guitarist and vocalist in the pop-rock band Metro Station. The band broke up earlier this year so the SyFy show is the next show-biz step for Trace. On Twitter, he states in his bio "Im the artist known as Ashland HIGH. I own the clothing line Southern Made Hollywood Paid!"
The adopted son of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, he is the older brother of Miley Cyrus, Braison Cyrus, and Noah Cyrus, and the younger brother of Brandi Cyrus.
Best known for his country-pop single, "Achy Breaky Heart", Billy Ray, 49, is not new to television. He is probably best known for his co-starring role on daughter Miley's show, "Hannah Montana." He appeared on Dancing with the Stars and previously hosted a reality series, Nashville Star.
Billy Ray Cyrus tells TVGuide.com: "Getting the opportunity to take this adventure with my son, who has always had a keen interest in this area, is a dream come true ... hope this series can shine a light on some of the activities we have questioned, and the mysteries that have long inspired us."
