Trace Adkins wife Rhonda Adkins filed for divorce to end their marriage that began in 1997 citing irreconcilable differences. CMT shared the couples statement on March 28, 2014. Rhonda Adkins filed for divorce asking for primary custody of the couple’s children.
The couple has issued a statement through Adkins’ publicist saying "Trace and Rhonda are united in ensuring that their children's interests come first." The statement continued by adding "They thank everyone for respecting their privacy as they work through this personal matter together."
The couple has three children together that are 16 years old, 12 years old and 9 years old. Rhonda Adkins also requested child support and alimony as well as all her legal fees when she filed the paperwork for the divorce on March 26, 2014 in a court near Nashville, Tennessee.
Trace Adkins has been facing many tough issues recently including time spent in rehab following a fight on board a country music cruise ship with a Trace Adkins impersonator in January and leaving after two weeks to be with his father when he died. Adkins did return to finish his stay in the rehab center following his father’s death by checking back in to complete his treatment.
