After a stressful start to his year and concert hiatus, Trace Adkins will be back out on tour in just a few days. After a stop at the Grand Ole Opry on June 3, Trace Adkins will officially kick off his summer tour June 5. The country star says he’s ready.
Those words are undoubtedly music to fans’ ears as Trace Adkins had a rough go of it for a while. At the start of this year, the country singer pulled out of a cruise ship concert lineup when he took a step backward in his fight against alcoholism. Reportedly, Trace Adkins had an altercation with an impersonator and ended up taking a drink of alcohol. He then dismissed himself from the concert lineup and headed straight to rehab.
Unfortunately, Trace Adkins’ troubles didn’t end there. Before he could get his feet firmly planted again, he got word that his father had become very ill. Just weeks after falling off the wagon and dealing with the emotions that brought up, Trace Adkins would find himself grieving the loss of his father as well.
Now, halfway through the year, Trace Adkins is finally feeling stronger. He says he’s ready to get back out on the road and play for fans.
I’m excited, recharged and ready to get back on the road. I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of encouragement and support over the past few months. It’s hard to put into words how much comfort you take from hearing ‘We’ve got your back.’ So these shows are for you guys – thanks.
Trace Adkins’ summer tour kicks off in New Jersey on June 5 and will run through the end of September with a final stop in Rohner Park, Calif.
