Toys 'R Us wants your old baby gear

National toy store chain Toys 'R Us is kicking off its annual used toy and gear collection, called The Great Trade-In. From Jan. 29 - Feb 20, parents can drop off a gently used baby item in exchange for a coupon that's good for 25% a new baby item from participating brands. There is no limit to how many coupons you can earn or redeem.

The Twin Cities' six Toys 'R Us locations and four Babies 'R Us stores are all accepting drop-offs of used cribs, car seats, bassinets, strollers, play yards, toddler beds, high chairs, or travel systems. The initiative aims to remove potentially unsafe baby equipment from households. Daycare centers that want to exchange items in bulk should contact their nearest store for drop-off details.

Toys 'R Us hosted its first Great Trade-In last September and was able to collect several thousand used baby items. Brands participating in the Great Trade-In event include Babi Italia, Baby Cache, Baby Trend, Bergamo, Bertini, Britax, Carter’s, Chicco, Contours by Kolcraft, Cosco, Delta, Eddie Bauer, Evenflo, Graco, Jeep, Little Tikes, Safety 1st, Sorelle and Step2.
