Toys for Tats 2013 holiday drive underway

See also

During the holidays everyone wants to do a little extra and give back to their communities. Toys for Tats is a holiday season toy drive that offers a unique opportunity to do just that. It rewards you with a tattoo in exchange for children's toys. This event is a hit around the country. One example was reported in the Dec. 1 issue of Your Erie which reported people lined up yesterday at Mid-Town Tattoo in Erie, PA, to give a toy and get inked. This event officially runs through December 24. Call your local tattoo studio to see if they are participating, and if not visit the Toys For Tats website to find the closest participating studio.

How Toys for Tats works

According to the Toys for Tats website, to participate in the campaign, all you have to do is donate a toy at a participating tattoo studio. The toy must worth five dollars or more. When you donate, you'll receive a $20 gift voucher good toward a tattoo or body piercing worth $60 or more! Some of the participating studios add their own twist to how it works and offer additional opportunities to win by selling raffle tickets and offering other deals on tattoos in exchange for toys.

Toys given to local needy children

All toys donated for the Toys for Tats gift drive can be dropped off at the participating tattoo studios, and they are given to needy children and families in your local community. Plus it's an opportunity to support your local tattoo studio. In past years, studies have shown a boost of 25% in business for participating tattoo studios. It's a win-win situation for everyone. Kids and families get the toys, toy givers receive a tattoo of their choice, and the studios get increased business, and together everyone makes a difference.

Vouchers

Those donating a toy will receive a $20 voucher toward a tattoo or body piercing that costs $60 or more. The vouchers are good through January 31st.
